This Instagram account calls out famous church leaders for their expensive footwear and other overpriced designer items. Would you attend church if you knew your pastor wore sneakers that are worth thousands of dollars? Tell us in the comments below.
Don’t go to church anyway, God is a lie and religions are all just cults.
Religion is just a business. Did you really think an almighty deity needs money and gold? Faith is just a whitewash word for stupity.
I’ll have to take your word they are some kind of preacher. Wasn’t the first guy a villain on one of the Mission Impossible movies? Or the last one Kurt Cobain? Next to last could pass as a slightly cleaner, younger Mickey Rourke. Third from last has a real Christian Slater look. Is that James Franco eating McD’s fries?
I am not religious. So the way I see it:
It is not my business to care about what other people use their wages for.
It will be once their money is spend and they come to you, taking your things and your life, to finance the lifestyle of their priest caste.
these are some of the ugliest shoes ive ever seen
Keep in mind that, if they are preachers, they are on their feet a lot. Can’t have them hobbling around in front of their charges.
This is ridiculous. As a vicar I am hired by the parish counsel and the bishop. I am paid by the public in the same way a police man, teacher or post man etc. How I use my pay cheque is entirely up to me. Church goers pay me nothing, and if they did it would fall under the same category as bribe which would just get me sacked and a nice time in gaol, why risk it? There is a tithe box in the church, but only the parish counsel has access to, and it really is minimal what goes into the box, and it just goes into monthly costs of running the church – a 950 year old church building is not cheap!
Should people also be concerned about what clothes you buy for your wages?
and then you went and donated money to some youtube motivator or whatever idiocracy yoinger people are into.
“I am paid by the public in the same way a police man, teacher or post man etc” only you do nothing useful for those who pay you.
Yo alfred the vicar, you sound butthurt
Yeah, but your more like a local pub musician compared to these divas who ask for money for the greater good and then spend it on themselves.
I think it is worthwhile to highlight to the poor and vulnerable that they may be being misled just as it would have saved much misery if covering up paedophilia amongst your colleagues had been “spotlighted” many years earlier.
It’s called breach of trust.
@whoever
You really don’t know that. Many vicars play a positive role in their community, but they are just people and often not terribly bright. I think he is not entirely right about using his pay cheque as he likes as if those things contradict or undermine his “teachings” then those he is duping have a right to be informed.
I swear the guy in the second picture looks like a *Dr. Who* Sontaran.
Why are so many preachers wear trainers? Are they afraid their flog suddenly sees through the con and come after them? By the way – God might have blessed them with faith but did not bless them with taste. They should pray for that.
WWJD?
I think the problem here is that a preacher is not just an employee like a mechanic, a doctor or a builder. As a preacher he or she represents by preaching the values of the christian faith. As far as I remember modesty is highly regarded in the christian morality while greed and squandering is seen as negative. And a religion which promotes modesty, generosity towards the poor and moral behaviour above monetary gain is very poorly represented by preacher which ware shoes that cost as much as one of even several monthly wages of their followers.
If I were rich, this would not be my taste in clothing.
But I have noticed that my younger brother, who is always professed to be a youth minister,
who has a lifestyle of partying, religion’ing, bragging, and ‘s**tshaming’-
I have noticed he wears a lot of designer clothing and that he enjoys bling and showing off.
One has to wonder how deep the link between a desire for attention and religion goes.
I am intrigued to know where in the USA they have a 950 year old church building. But surely the priest could put in that box $ 400 and buy himself shoes for $ 200 instead of buying shoes for $ 600. Would help that old building a lot, you know.
Priest surely have enough money to live their life, but making them so damn rich that they can afford rock star lives, sorry, that would be difficult to get in line with the basic idea of the bible from what I know (went, for instance, to kindergarten run by nurses).
In the past few years or so there were many report of vicars literally butt-hurting children.
I’m not young and I do not donate money to talentless “influencers”.
Jesus was happy with sandals.
“I am paid by the public in the same way a police man, teacher or post man etc”
But in contrast to them you are a parasite or something like a useless organ. You would have been more usefull for society with a real job, no doubt. Instead of telling people fairytales about bronze age mysticism and imaginary deities and their contemptuous adventures.
The best trainers won’t save you once hunting season begins.
Wow, paranoid much?
Many people would prefer preacher with expensive shoes. This is called theology of wellness. It states that if you obey God’s rules, you will be healthy, rich and happy. Not exactly what Bible states, though.
> Anteater – he doesn’t say that the church is in USA, soooo… USA is not the only country in the world :)
> Others – I agree that Faith is something that should be replaced by reason, but at the same time the transition period should be in place since if you remove faith from certain people, consequences might be awful for everyone. For some people, faith in GOD is the only thing that keeps them sane / not go on a rampage. As well as it truly helps some of the folk to make sense of the world in general.
Just because you are agnostic/atheist, doesn’t make you any better, same as the other way around. If people would just actually tolerate each other more and stop bitching about “my view is better than yours” (this is for both parties) and come together to help each other out no matter the affiliation, the world just might give us another shot at surviving.
Algore takes private jets to AGW conventons.
Preachers should only buy fishheads. Perishiners who support preachers who don’t should have their money confiscated and donated to AOC’s favorite cause
If the money to pay you doesn’t come from parishioners, where does it come from? The money doesn’t just appear in the accounts of the parish counsel and bishop from the ether.
Someone you don’t believe ever existed wore sandals?
I attend church to praise God and fellowship with Christian sisters and brothers not to size up the quality of what others are wearing and the costs…
Most atheists also don’t believe in absolute truth yet they are absolutely certain that there is no God-makes a lot of sense
People are afraid of death. People are thought rational thinking and logic in schools and workplaces. They know they will die and all those they love will die. Any one who is a skilled enough preacher to make them forget what they know and believe in fairy-tails about immortality deserves all the expensive sneakers they can buy.
So I suspect y’ar European or Brittish and a real Vicar
(there’s no 950year old churches on the ‘merican continent .)
Those so called “preachers” mostly got a license of the internet for the “church of …” and all these “round up’s” are just hussles . Tell the flock a pretty touching story and claim that he who donates the most will get a better seat in heaven . pure scams they are . I’m not religious but I had a good understanding with our vicar and he virtually had no money of his own , he was allowed to pay what he needed for his own but you would never see him with better things than anybody in the community .
not sayin’ there’s no goodhearted well meaning preachers but they are few and definitely not wearing exclusive sneakers
