Wehrmacht! The joke works with "Ich war mit der Wehrmacht dort" not the SS. Same category as the following joke: "My grandpa died in the KZ Dachau." "Oh my god, that's horrible!" Anita: I laughted my ass off, but what really cathes my eye is you saying "not even in germany". Grogg's right, history is comparing large apples (Germans' uptightness vis-a-vis Hitler) to apples that are not quite nearly so large (the other stuff), and Anita is half-wrong, because jokes about Nazis are indeed funny. |
