This explains shit. The image on the left is a complete lie. Palestine did not exist until this plot of land was divided into Israel and Palestine.

A brief history lesson: One time three large Arab countries with assistance from other Arab countries decided to invade Israel all the way to Jerusalem. Long story short, 6 days later Israel was twice as large.

Actually the Arabs did not accept the UN partition plan of 1947, and begun an full war from Egypt and Lebbanon which resulted in the victory of the Israeli forces (that were much shorter in size) and the taking of Arab grounds. the changes between 67 to 2000 were a result of 2 wars in 1967 and 1973. The invasion of israeli troops into the Arab grounds was boosted by the intifada in which Arabic bombers and terrorists attacked Israeli residents and performed suicidal bombings. I wont justify the Israeli government, It has a shitload of errors and shit faced politicians.Yet, it pays to have a certain knowledge of history which was always made from conflicts and alot of people that dont have an idea of what they are doing or talking about.

Funny choice of color, because stages 1 and 3 probably reflect well the extent of arable land there. Pre-Israel there were mainly large swaths of desert or swamp. The early days of Israel put in huge efforts to "bloom the desert" and "farm the swamp". Massive tree plantings and swamp draining projects were implemented, making the land a VERY VERY different place after only a decade or two.

Further, these kinds of maps always leave something out... "Palestine" happened to run all the way to the Iraqi border. When the UN plan creating Israel was ratified, it left about 12% of the land for the Jews... the other 88% went to the Arabs. And yet noone complains about what is today called Jordan anymore.

For a while, many "Palestinians" were in Jordan... until they tried to create unrest and overthrow the government. After a second assassination attempt on the King, they were treated as lepers and driven out: banned from owning land, renting homes, even banking.

And that's when they went back to trying to get back the land between the Mediterranean and the Jordan. And when the UN (via UNRWA) starting handing out large subsidies in cash, materiel and food, that's when 80,000 displaced Palestinians suddenly became a teeming multitude of over 2.3 million!

Of note, another omission on the map... there's a chunk of Syria that Israel took over called the Golan Heights. High ground from which Israel was being shelled almost daily. When it was captured, they found construction had begun there on a massive channel to redirect the Jordan river out of reach of Israel.
